तेषामेवानुकम्पार्थमहमज्ञानजं तमः | नाशयाम्यात्मभावस्थो ज्ञानदीपेन भास्वता || ११ ||
teṣām evānukampārtham aham ajñāna-jaṁ tamaḥ nāśayāmy ātma-bhāva-stho jñāna-dīpena bhāsvatā
teṣām—for them; eva—certainly; anukampā-artham—out of compassion; aham—I; ajñāna-jam—born of ignorance; tamaḥ—darkness; nāśayāmi—I destroy; ātma-bhāva-sthaḥ—dwelling in their hearts; jñāna-dīpena—with the lamp of knowledge; bhāsvatā—with the blazing.
“Out of compassion for them, dwelling in their hearts, I destroy the darkness born of ignorance with the blazing lamp of knowledge.”
The Lord does not remove ignorance from outside, like a surgeon operating on a patient, but from within — ātma-bhāva-sthaḥ, dwelling in the heart of the devotee. Ignorance is not a substance to be extracted; it is an absence of light. The moment the lamp of knowledge is kindled from within, darkness cannot persist. The entire process is an act of divine compassion.
You do not have to force spiritual understanding into existence through sheer mental effort. When your heart is genuinely open and you are devoted to truth, understanding tends to arise spontaneously in meditation, in dreams, or in moments of quiet. Trust the process; the lamp is already being kindled from within.
