Navagraha Stotram — Verse 3

Sanskrit

Transliteration

dharanīgarbha sambhūtaṁ vidyutkānti samaprabham kumāraṁ śaktihastaṁ taṁ maṅgalaṁ praṇamāmyaham

Word Meanings

dharanī-garbha—from the womb of earth; sambhūtam—born; vidyut-kānti—lightning brilliance; sama-prabham—equally radiant; kumāram—youthful one; śakti-hastam—holding a spear; maṅgalam—to Mangala; praṇamāmi aham—I bow.

Translation

I bow to Mangala, born from the womb of earth, radiant like lightning, youthful, and holding the spear of directed force.

Commentary

Mangala is presented as disciplined force and active courage. Rather than treating Mars symbolism as a fate-marker, this verse can be used to cultivate steadier action, cleaner boundaries, and courageous service.
