पुरुषः स परः पार्थ भक्त्या लभ्यस्त्वनन्यया | यस्यान्तःस्थानि भूतानि येन सर्वमिदं ततम् || २२ ||
puruṣaḥ sa paraḥ pārtha bhaktyā labhyas tv ananyayā yasyāntaḥ-sthāni bhūtāni yena sarvam idaṁ tatam
puruṣaḥ—the Supreme Person; saḥ—He; paraḥ—supreme; pārtha—O son of Pritha; bhaktyā—by devotion; labhyaḥ—can be attained; tu—but; ananyayā—undivided/exclusive; yasya—within whom; antaḥ-sthāni—dwelling; bhūtāni—all beings; yena—by whom; sarvam—all; idam—this; tatam—pervaded.
“O son of Pritha, that Supreme Person, within whom all beings dwell and by whom all this is pervaded, is attainable by undivided devotion.”
After the grand cosmology of Brahma's days and nights and the eternal Imperishable, Krishna brings the teaching back to the heart: ananyayā bhakti (undivided devotion) is the means. The Supreme who pervades all and in whom all dwell is reached not by intellectual analysis alone, but by the total surrender of love.
After any period of philosophical study or intellectual inquiry, return to the heart. Sit quietly, feel the presence of something vaster than your own mind, and let that feeling expand into a sense of being held, pervaded, and sustained by the Infinite. This is ananyā bhakti—devotion that has no remainder.
