बीजं मां सर्वभूतानां विद्धि पार्थ सनातनम् | बुद्धिर्बुद्धिमतामस्मि तेजस्तेजस्विनामहम् || १० ||
bījaṁ māṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ viddhi pārtha sanātanam buddhir buddhimatām asmi tejas tejasvinām aham
bījam—seed; mām—Me; sarva-bhūtānām—of all living beings; viddhi—know; pārtha—O son of Pritha; sanātanam—eternal; buddhiḥ—intelligence; buddhi-matām—of the intelligent; asmi—I am; tejaḥ—splendour/prowess; tejasvinām—of the splendid; aham—I am.
“Know Me, O son of Pritha, as the eternal seed of all beings. I am the intelligence of the intelligent and the splendour of the splendid.”
The Lord is the indwelling principle (antaryāmin) that is the very ground of all sentient and insentient being. The 'seed' (bīja) metaphor captures how Brahman contains all potentiality. The special qualities in any individual—intelligence, brilliance—are emanations of that central Divine presence.
When you admire someone's intelligence, creativity, or courage, you are perceiving a ray of the Infinite shining through a finite form. This recognition dissolves envy and comparisons, replacing them with appreciation for how many facets the one Brahman can take.
