Navagraha Stotram — Verse 9

Sanskrit

Transliteration

palāśapuṣpa saṅkāśaṁ tārakāgraha mastakam raudraṁ raudrātmakaṁ ghoraṁ taṁ ketuṁ praṇamāmyaham

Word Meanings

palāśa-puṣpa—palasha flower; saṅkāśam—shining like; tārakā-graha-mastakam—crowned among stars and grahas; raudram—fierce; raudrātmakam—of fierce nature; ghoram—intense; ketum—to Ketu; praṇamāmi aham—I bow.

Translation

I bow to Ketu, radiant like the palasha flower, intense and fierce in nature, subtle among the stellar and graha forces.

Commentary

Ketu symbolizes detachment, severance, inwardization, and moksha-oriented insight. In practice this verse supports simplification, introspection, and the willingness to release excess identity.
